Frequently Asked Renter Questions

What is the application fee and how long does the approval process take?

In order to qualify as a tenant, you will be required to complete a rental application after viewing the property. Any adult that will be residing in the house must apply. The application fee is $60 per adult and is non-refundable. The application is processed in around 2-3 business days.

Note: You are not permitted to move in on the same day that you submit your application.

What are the move-in costs?

Total move-in cost differs depending on the property. At minimum, the security deposit and first month’s rent are due prior to moving in. After the application is approved, you will be required to pay the full security deposit in the form of certified funds only. Starting from the date of approval, we will hold the property for a maximum of two weeks.
Who is responsible for paying the utilities?
While each property has different requirements for utilities, the renter is typically responsible for paying for power, water, gas, garbage, and sewer.
Who is responsible for repairs and maintenance?
As a tenant, you will be responsible for reporting the repair issues to us at NWPM. Following your request, we will take the next steps towards the resolution of the issue. According to the lease agreement, tenants are liable for any repairs costing up to and including $150, as well as any repairs caused by tenant overuse or negligence. We recommend you review the lease or call us for more details.
Do you allow pets?

Most of our properties will consider pets on a case by case basis and final approval, by the owner, is required. Applicant(s) understand that the Security Deposit will increase by $300 (refundable) for each approved pet. Pit Bull, Rottweiler, American Staffordshire Terrier, or any breed synonymous with or mixed with these breeds are prohibited.

Is a 30-day notice required before moving out?

Yes. In case of early lease termination, you will be required to provide 30-day notice and continue to pay the rent until a new lease is executed. You must also ensure that the property is move-in-ready for the next tenant. Non-compliance with the lease may result in negative credit reports and/or a small claims judgment against you.

Note: We do not provide a buy-out option.
